Filter companies by stage

Whether you want an early startup or a large enterprise says a lot about the job — the pace, the team size, how much is already built. So there’s now a Company stage filter on the companies page: Startup, Scaleup, Enterprise, or Government.

The stage is worked out deterministically from what we already know about each company — whether it’s a YC company, its headcount, its founding year, and whether it hires through government job systems. A public giant that went through YC years ago counts as an enterprise, not a startup.

It’s honest about what it doesn’t know: a company we can’t confidently place has no stage and simply won’t show up under a stage filter, rather than being guessed into the wrong bucket. Pick a stage on /companies to try it.
