One MCP connection for search and your freehire account
Search 4.9 million unique open jobs from your AI assistant, then save the ones worth pursuing. freehire now uses one hosted MCP address for public search and personal tools:
https://freehire.me/api/v1/mcp You can ask your assistant for remote Go jobs, look up an employer or compare salary ranges without signing in. When you want to save a shortlist or read your tracked jobs, connect your freehire account through OAuth. The server address stays the same.
Previously, setup asked you to choose between a public connector and a separate account connector. That choice made a simple request awkward: find some jobs, then save the ones worth pursuing. A single connection now supports both parts.
The catalogue snapshot on 5 November 2026 contains 4,990,891 unique open jobs, 684,916 company profiles, 437 sources and 178 ATS platforms. These are catalogue figures, not a promise that every company currently has an open role.
Search first, connect your account when you need it
Public tools search jobs and employers, read postings, check recorded posting availability and return salary and hiring statistics. They need no freehire account or API key.
After you approve OAuth access, your assistant can read your profile and tracking board, save jobs, update application stages and manage job alerts. Those changes appear in the same account you use on the website. You can revoke the connection from Connected devices in your account.
For example, start with:
Find remote backend Go roles in Europe.
Then ask:
Save the best three to my board.
Your assistant needs account access for the second request. If it does not open sign-in automatically, use its authentication control. You keep the same server.
The same address in Claude, ChatGPT and coding agents
The MCP setup guide has instructions for each assistant. For Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http freehire https://freehire.me/api/v1/mcp When you want personal tools, run claude mcp login freehire. In Codex, add the
same URL with codex mcp add freehire --url https://freehire.me/api/v1/mcp, then
run codex mcp login freehire to connect your account. Approve access in your
browser. You do not need to copy a token into the configuration.
ChatGPT supports public search and account access through the same Freehire connection. Tool availability in a directory listing also depends on the provider’s review. The guide includes custom-connection instructions.
Tracking and sending an application are different actions
Saving a job or marking it applied changes your tracking board. Neither action sends anything to an employer.
For automatic applications, connect with OAuth and enable Let connected agents apply for me under Account → Integrations → API keys. Then explicitly ask your assistant to prepare an application on a supported employer form. You review the prepared application before approving submission. This workflow is subject to your plan and allowance.
The account tools also let an agent suggest a missing skill, specialization or industry for the dictionary, and report a failed operation. An empty search alone is not evidence that a dictionary term is missing. Problem reports should omit secrets and personal documents.
Existing /api/v1/mcp/account connections remain supported during migration.
Use the unified address for new connections. You do not need to remove a working
connection just to continue searching.
