Company Overview Amperesand is reinventing how the world powers its most critical systems. We are facing a once-in-a-generation opportunity for infrastructure disruption. Electricity demand is skyrocketing, driven by…
Leads a team to develop and maintain firmware for power-electronics hardware that controls, secures, and communicates with solid-state transformers and converters.
Designs and engineers high-voltage power infrastructure hardware, including enclosures and thermal systems, using CAD and simulation tools while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring products from prototype to production.
Designs and optimizes high-voltage power conversion hardware and control systems for next-gen energy infrastructure, using advanced topologies like SiC/GaN devices and Solid State Transformers.
Designs and validates mechanical systems for next-gen power electronics, focusing on medium-voltage converters and enclosures using CAD, FEA/CFD, and prototyping to support high-volume energy infrastructure products.
Owns compliance for solid-state transformers, coordinating safety/EMC certifications (UL, IEC, FCC) and integrating regulatory requirements into hardware design and manufacturing.
Designs and implements embedded firmware for real-time power regulation and control in next-gen energy hardware, using C/C++ and RTOS on custom hardware platforms.
Owns the validation of high-voltage power electronics subsystems inside Amperesand's solid-state transformers, taking them from first bring-up through design validation, production ramp, and automated regression. Day-to-day is building HV/high-current test systems, characterizing efficiency and switching behavior, and automating tests with Python and systems languages.
Leads the architecture and development of a scalable distributed test framework in Golang that automates hardware testing across labs and manufacturing lines for Amperesand's solid-state transformer power products. Blends software leadership (Go, distributed systems, MES/database integration) with hands-on test hardware bring-up and team mentoring.
Amperesand is hiring an onsite Technical Writer (San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Reno) to author the full suite of power-infrastructure product documentation — sales content, site design guides, installation, commissioning, service, and safety manuals — and to build and administer an online customer/partner document portal using structured authoring tools like MadCap Flare and DITA.
