AI Engineer (Applied LLM Systems)
Discernis builds AI-driven document intelligence for legal teams, running on-prem and in customer-controlled environments. This engineer leads the core AI systems: designing LLM workflows (agentic orchestration, prompt engineering, retrieval, post-training), owning evaluations/benchmarking, and optimizing self-hosted model serving, primarily in Python with vLLM.
Backend Engineer
Builds and extends the Python/Flask backend services powering Discernis's AI-driven document intelligence platform for legal work, including ingestion/processing pipelines (PDF, Office, OCR), APIs, background tasks, and large-scale search/retrieval. Core stack: Python 3.11+, Flask, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Docker.
Frontend Engineer
Frontend Engineer at Discernis building the review interface for an AI-driven legal document intelligence product — creating React/TypeScript UIs for viewing, searching, annotating, and verifying large document sets against AI-generated citations. Focus on clarity, speed, accessibility, and handling sensitive legal data.
Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer
Owns the infrastructure running Discernis' AI document-intelligence platform across their cloud, customer-managed cloud accounts, and on-prem/air-gapped customer hardware. Day to day this means packaging the product as reproducible Kubernetes bundles, managing IaC and CI/CD, running GPU-accelerated AI workloads, and building monitoring and security hardening for restricted environments.
Solutions Engineer
Solutions Engineer at Discernis, an AI document-intelligence startup for legal work: you act as the technical lead on enterprise sales to large law firms (demos, security reviews, on-prem/cloud pilots) and then own each pilot through to conversion and post-sale adoption. Core technologies: APIs, cloud and on-prem deployment, security fundamentals, plus Kubernetes/Docker/Linux as a bonus.
