It all began in 1997, when founder and lifelong entrepreneur, Larry Gilbert, forged a pivotal relationship with the very group that recovered artifacts from the historic RMS Titanic. This organization was in search of a partner who could do more than just sell souvenirs; they needed someone to craft a retail experience that would accompany their traveling artifact exhibition, extending the emotional and historical journey for every visitor. In July of 1998, this vision materialized with the opening of the first store in Boston. This single location was the seed from which a retail giant would grow. From that initial, poignant partnership, the business, which would come to be known as Event Network, began to expand its horizons. The team recognized that the same principles of creating immersive, mission-driven retail could be applied to a wide array of cultural and experiential destinations.
