Home Builders Institute (HBI) is a national nonprofit dedicated to building a skilled workforce for the construction industry. HBI provides tuition-free skilled trades training, pre-apprenticeship programs, and job placement services to diverse populations including at-risk youth, veterans, and displaced workers. Programs focus on in-demand skills such as carpentry and electrical work, equipping students with industry-recognized credentials and a clear pathway to sustainable careers. As a leader in construction education, HBI offers a nationally recognized curriculum – one of only three accredited by the U.S. Department of Labor – available for licensing to schools and community programs. Beyond direct training, HBI supports the industry through curriculum development, safety training, and ongoing mentorship, fostering a pipeline of qualified professionals and driving positive community impact.
