This engineer extends and scales distributed LLM pre-training infrastructure at a foundation-model research lab: modifying frameworks like DeepSpeed/FSDP, implementing distributed optimizers from math specs, and building launch, monitoring, and checkpointing systems across multi-node GPU clusters using PyTorch or JAX.
