Kickstarter PBC

About

At the heart of Kickstarter is a profound belief in the power of creative expression to shape a vibrant and healthy society. We are not just a platform; we are a community-driven engine designed to bring creative projects to life, free from the constraints of traditional gatekeepers. Our culture is rooted in the conviction that art, in all its forms, deserves the space to exist and thrive. We operate as a Public Benefit Corporation, a legal designation that enshrines our commitment to prioritize positive social impact alongside financial sustainability. This structure ensures that our mission remains our north star, guiding every decision we make and every tool we build. Our team is a diverse collective of passionate individuals—musicians, writers, gamers, and robot-builders—who are united by a shared dedication to serving the creative ecosystem. We foster a workplace environment that values experimentation, inclusivity, and the courage to fail and try again. By embracing a fully remote operating model and pioneering a four-day workweek, we champion a culture of trust and balance, recognizing that our best work emerges when we have the time and space to lead fulfilling lives outside of the office. We stand firmly against the monoculture, striving instead to empower independent voices and connect them with communities that believe in their vision.
