Open positions
Software Engineer - Kernels
Designs and optimizes compute kernels that interface directly with MatX's custom hardware for training and running the largest ML/AGI workloads, working alongside ML research and hardware teams. Stack centers on Rust plus low-level optimization (C/C++, assembly, SIMD, GPU/CUDA); hybrid role, 3 days/week in Mountain View.
Hardware Tools Engineer
Builds and evolves the language, compiler, and tooling that MatX hardware engineers use daily — chiefly the open-source Bluespec compiler (Haskell) plus Rust-based hardware libraries, simulators, and design/verification flows — so architects, designers, and verification teams on the AI chip can move faster.
Design Verification Engineer - Compute
Design Verification Engineer at MatX, an AI-chip company, owning subsystem- and chip-level verification of high-performance AI accelerator silicon: building testbenches and tests, driving coverage closure, and leading verification sign-off through design freeze and tapeout using SystemVerilog/UVM, formal and simulation, plus Python/C++.
Microarchitect and RTL Designer - Compute
Own micro-architecture and RTL for the compute subsystem of MatX's AI accelerator chips — from spec through area/timing closure, design freeze, and tapeout — collaborating with verification, DFT, and physical design teams. Core tech: SystemVerilog, Bluespec, Python, C/C++, synthesis and sign-off flows. Mountain View HQ or remote.
SOC Integration Engineer
A silicon SOC integration engineer who stitches subsystems into the full-chip top-level RTL for MatX's AI training chips, building automation for on-the-fly SOC RTL generation and aligning clock/reset, timing, and floorplan connectivity with physical design. Core tools: SystemVerilog, Python/Perl, and SOC integration/verification flows.
Lead Software Engineer, Kernels
MatX is hiring a hands-on tech lead to manage and grow a kernel engineering team while personally designing high-performance compute kernels for its custom AI hardware. Day to day blends people leadership with low-level optimization work (C/C++, assembly, SIMD, GPU/CUDA) in close partnership with ML research and hardware teams.
Security Engineer
Senior Security Engineer at MatX, a startup building AI compute silicon, securing the software, build systems, and cloud infrastructure behind chip design and ML training. A generalist role focused on supply chain/build integrity, adversarial testing, cloud hardening, and writing security tooling in Go/Python/Rust.
