About

We are an organization that works to broaden civic participation in building solutions to climate change. Our mission is to bring those who have been traditionally excluded from the climate movement into the conversation on their own terms - particularly communities with conservative or traditional values who often feel alienated from mainstream environmental discourse. We believe that effective climate action must be inclusive and locally-driven. Rather than trying to persuade people to change their beliefs, we work to bridge the empathy gap by partnering with trusted local institutions and community organizations. Together, we develop culturally relevant narratives that help communities see how environmental stewardship aligns with their existing values and priorities. Our approach is rooted in respect for ordinary people and their way of life. We strengthen networks of civic institutions working for the common good, identify emerging leaders with widely shared values, and deploy rigorous methods to understand and mobilize local audiences. Through this work, we aim to build the broad-based political support needed for lasting environmental action.
