About
At Prep Academy Tutors, we believe that education should adapt to each child, not the other way around. Founded in 2000 by Carly Dougherty, who started tutoring students during her university years and saw demand far greater than she could handle alone, the company has grown from a personal passion project into North America's premier in-home and online tutoring service. After obtaining her Master's Degree in Child Psychology, Carly, together with her husband Adrian, assembled a dream team of like-minded educators and expanded Prep Academy Tutors across Canada and the United States. We think of our tutors as your child's "smart friend": a patient and knowledgeable adult who is a subject area expert with years of experience helping K-12 students. Our elite team of certified teachers recognizes that every student learns differently, combining new-school learning with old-school values. Whether students need help with reading fundamentals or advanced calculus, our tutors create personalized learning plans that build confidence, competence, and mastery. We pride ourselves on flexible scheduling that works around busy family lives, offering sessions seven days a week in-home or online.
