About
Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) is a Community Choice Energy agency formed in 2016 by twelve Santa Clara County municipalities. It purchases and delivers carbon‑free electricity to residents and businesses in Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Saratoga, Sunnyvale, and unincorporated Santa Clara County at rates that are lower than the regional grid. SVCE also runs programs that promote energy efficiency, demand management, and fuel‑switching, helping its communities replace fossil‑fuel use in transportation, buildings and infrastructure. The agency is governed by a public board of elected officials and is funded entirely through program revenues, allowing all savings and project dollars to be returned to customers in the form of competitive rates and local clean‑energy projects.
