About
Southcoast Health is a not-for-profit, charitable, community-based health system with multiple access points, offering an integrated continuum of health services throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Our system includes three hospitals — Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, and Tobey Hospital in Wareham. These hospitals merged on June 9, 1996, to form Southcoast Hospitals Group and operate under a single hospital license, with a total of 815 beds. In addition, Southcoast Health partners with Acadia Healthcare to offer expanded resources at Southcoast Behavioral Health in Dartmouth. When you come to Southcoast Health, you will receive the best care, plus something more. We deliver an unmatched combination of clinical excellence with a personal touch. Our providers, nurses, and staff chose Southcoast Health so they can bring high-quality care to the communities they call home. Southcoast serves more than 725,000 residents in 33 communities, covering more than 900 square miles. Our commitment to quality and patient-centered care is evident in the robust programs and services we offer, ensuring the right care is available close to home.
