About
The Southeast Asian Development Center (SEADC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a healthy, thriving, and self-sufficient Southeast Asian American community. Founded in 1977 in San Francisco's Tenderloin District, SEADC was originally known as the Vietnamese Youth Development Center (VYDC) before expanding its mission and name to serve a broader community. SEADC is dedicated to lifting children, youth, and families from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam out of poverty. The organization provides comprehensive services structured around giving low-income and vulnerable Southeast Asian Americans the basic needs and skills critical to building successful futures. These services include employment support, academic assistance, language services, health and wellness programs, cultural resiliency initiatives, and social guidance. SEADC's culturally responsive approach ensures that services are accessible and relevant to the communities they serve.
