We are tado°, and since our founding in Munich in 2011, we've been driven by a clear mission: to revolutionize how energy is consumed in homes, making it more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. Our journey began when our founders, Christian Deilmann, Johannes Schwarz, and Valentin Sawadski, envisioned a smarter way to manage home climate. The name 'tado°' itself is a nod to the Japanese greetings 'tadaima' (I'm back home) and 'okaeri' (Welcome back), reflecting our initial key feature of geofencing – intelligently adjusting heating based on your presence. At our core, we develop intelligent home climate solutions. Our flagship products, Smart Thermostats and Smart AC Controls, are designed to give you effortless control over your heating and cooling systems. We believe that saving energy shouldn't mean sacrificing comfort. That's why our technology incorporates features like Geofencing, which automatically turns down the heat when the last person leaves and warms it up before the first person returns. We're proud that our solutions are compatible with a vast majority of heating systems, around 5,000 different types by 2014, and nearly all air conditioning units that use an infrared remote control.
