About
The Salvation Army is the nation's largest direct provider of social services, operating nearly 7,000 centers nationwide. Its core mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ while meeting human needs through a wide array of programs, including food assistance, shelter, eviction prevention, disaster relief, rehabilitation, and youth education. The organization distinguishes itself by delivering these services in a faith-based, non-discriminatory manner, leveraging a global evangelical network to address poverty, addiction, and social injustice. With a focus on holistic care—spiritual enrichment, family support, and community advocacy—the Salvation Army mobilizes volunteers, fundraising, and professional development to create lasting impact across local and international communities.
