Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS) stands as a testament to a legacy of compassion and service that began over a century ago. While its parent organization, Volunteers of America, was founded in 1896 by Ballington and Maud Booth with a promise to 'go wherever we are needed, and do whatever comes to hand,' VOANS was established in 1982 to specifically address the growing need for specialized housing and healthcare solutions. What started as a mission to support the most vulnerable has evolved into a sophisticated national network, dedicated to uplifting lives through high-quality affordable housing and comprehensive healthcare services. Today, VOANS operates as a powerhouse of community support, employing over 3,000 professionals across the United States and Puerto Rico. The organization manages a vast portfolio that includes hundreds of affordable housing properties and dozens of senior healthcare programs, such as skilled nursing, assisted living, and the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). By integrating housing with health services, VOANS creates environments where seniors, veterans, and families can thrive with dignity and independence.
