Weaviate

About

We're on a mission to build the future of AI-first infrastructure. We believe that the next wave of software is fundamentally AI-native, and we're creating the open-source tools to empower developers and companies to thrive in this new era. Our core creation, Weaviate, is an open-source vector database that's built from the ground up to handle data in a completely new way. Instead of relying on traditional keywords, we use machine learning to understand the semantic meaning behind your data, whether it's text, images, or other complex formats. This allows for incredibly powerful and intuitive search and analysis capabilities that were previously unimaginable. We're passionate about making this technology accessible to everyone, which is why we're so committed to open source. We believe that a strong and vibrant community is the cornerstone of creating exceptional software. Our culture is built on a foundation of five core values: be kind, work together as one, strive for excellence, encourage transparency, and inspire trust. We're a remote-first company, with a global team of talented individuals who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI. This remote structure gives us the freedom and flexibility to do our best work, wherever we are in the world. We're not just building a product; we're building a community and a new way of thinking about data. We're incredibly proud of the work we do and the amazing applications our users are building with Weaviate, from powering recommendation engines to enabling complex, agentic AI systems. We are backed by some of the world's leading investors who share our vision for an AI-native future, and we're excited to continue this journey of innovation and growth with our team, our community, and our partners.
