About

We are Young Americans for Liberty (YAL), the most active and effective libertarian youth organization advancing liberty on campus and in American electoral politics. Founded in 2008 out of the energy of the Ron Paul presidential campaign, we have grown into a massive nationwide movement dedicated to identifying, educating, training, and mobilizing young people who are committed to winning on principle. Our mission is bold and clear: to build a bench of principled liberty legislators who will advance a libertarian philosophy, ascend to higher office, and reclaim the direction of our government. We are not just a student club; we are a pipeline for the future leaders of the liberty movement. We operate with a highly strategic 'Build, Elect, Pass' model that drives real results. First, we 'Build' the network by establishing and supporting chapters on hundreds of high school and college campuses across the country, where we recruit and train the next generation of activists. Second, we 'Elect' principled leaders through our 'Operation Win at the Door' initiative, mobilizing our army of student activists to knock on millions of doors to support pro-liberty candidates in state legislative races. Finally, we help 'Pass' transformative legislation by holding these elected officials accountable to the principles of liberty and working to pass bills that protect individual rights. We believe that by empowering young activists with the tools, training, and network they need, we can make liberty win in our lifetime. While our headquarters are located in Austin, Texas, our impact is felt in every state across the nation as we fight for a freer future.
