We are Zocdoc, the tech company at the beginning of a better healthcare experience. Our mission is to give power to the patient. Each month, millions of people use our free service, via Zocdoc.com or the Zocdoc app, to find in-network doctors, instantly book in-person or virtual appointments, read reviews from verified users, get reminders for upcoming appointments and preventative checkups, and more. We believe that finding the right healthcare should be simple, accessible, and transparent. That's why we've built a platform that connects patients with the care they need, when they need it, across over 200 specialties and more than 12,000 insurance plans. We were founded in 2007 with the goal of improving access to care. The idea sparked when one of our co-founders, Cyrus Massoumi, experienced a burst eardrum while traveling and struggled to find an available local doctor. This personal frustration highlighted a universal problem: the difficulty of navigating the healthcare system to find and book appointments. Since then, we've been dedicated to creating a seamless experience for both patients and providers. For patients, we offer a user-friendly platform to search for doctors based on specialty, location, insurance, and availability, and to book appointments instantly online. For providers, we help them become more discoverable to patients, reduce no-shows, and fill last-minute openings in their schedules. We're constantly innovating, from introducing online check-in features to launching telehealth services and even a COVID-19 vaccine scheduler. We're proud of the progress we've made in making healthcare more patient-centric and look forward to continuing to build a service that puts patients first.
