Senior backend engineer building Laravel + PostgreSQL systems for client SaaS engagements: designing APIs, schemas, and background jobs, owning database performance and migrations, and carrying on-call during launches. Core stack includes Laravel, Postgres, Horizon/queues, and Pest/PHPUnit testing.
Build serious Laravel + Postgres systems for our larger SaaS engagements.
You'll be the backend anchor on a client pod, shaping the data model and owning API design. Two of our most demanding clients are PHP shops — we need someone who can hold the line on quality there.
What you'll do
- Design APIs, schemas, and background jobs
- Own database performance and migrations
- Pair with frontend on contract design
- Carry on-call during launches
What you need
- 5+ years Laravel and Postgres
- Strong understanding of background jobs (Horizon / queues)
- Have run a production database with > 100GB
- Comfortable writing tests in Pest or PHPUnit
Nice to have
- Kafka or NATS
- Observability work
