Contract Period: From 20 Aug 2026 to 29 Oct 2027

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours during the school term:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 8:00am to 5:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break (8.5 working hours)

• Fridays: 8:00am to 2:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break (5 working hours)

• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, designated Home-Based Learning (HBL) days and designated School Holidays (e.g. Youth Day, Teachers’ Day, National Day School Holiday, Term breaks)

• The end-time for workday before public holidays or designated school holidays will be adjusted accordingly.

• There will be a minimum of 4 engagement hours per workday.

Requirement:

The Personnel should preferably have the following qualifications, experience and competencies:

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE 'O' Level or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in a uniformed service (SAF, SPS), law enforcement (e.g. SPF, CNB), or a related discipline management role in secondary schools

• Experience in student management, youth work, or working with youths in a structured setting for behavioural support and restorative work

• Familiarity with investigation processes, disciplinary procedures, and case management

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including confidentiality requirements

Competencies

• Calm disposition when handling challenging student situations

• Firm yet respectful approach when working with students

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the school's Student Management team

• Commitment to restorative discipline practices and student well-being

• Proficient in basic IT tools for documentation and reporting purposes

Job Scopes:

The Services required are set out as follows:

1. Investigative & Case Support

• Assist in conducting preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews

• Obtain student and witness statements where appropriate and compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports to relevant key personnel for directions

• Closing the loop by communicating with parents, staff and students 2. Detention & Restorative Follow-Up

• Work with Form teachers to ensure that students report for detention

• Supervise detention sessions on Tue, Wed and Thu

• Ensure that detention rules are adhered to during detention sessions

• Maintain attendance and behavioural records during the detention sessions

• Update and follow up with any detention defaulters 3. In-House Suspension Support

• Help establish a structured environment for students serving suspension

• Support SM team in managing students sent out of class and on internal suspension

• Support learning continuity during suspension period

• Guide students through reflective activities to prepare for re-entry to classroom 4. Campus Supervision & Maintain Discipline Tone

• Serve as visible adult presence in high movement areas during recess times and dismissal time.

• Conduct systematic patrols with Student Management Team members during:

o In-School - Recess/ lunch breaks/ lesson transitions

o Out-of-School near school vicinity

• Station at canteen during recess/break times to manage students’ behaviours (for e.g., queue cutting)

• Support proactive discipline strategies

• Assist in simple peer reconciliation or mediation contexts (where necessary)

Reporting Structures and Expectations

1. Deployment & Reporting

• The DSO will report operationally to the Student Management Committee

• Deployment schedule will be determined by the school in accordance with the termly school timetable and school events

2. Performance Expectations The DSO is expected to:

• demonstrate professionalism, discretion and good judgment

• engage students respectfully and constructively

• uphold confidentiality and procedural fairness

• collaborate effectively with teachers and SM personnel.
