Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level Database Administrator to join our team. The
ideal candidate will have solid experience in database installation, configuration,
maintenance, and optimization, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of
our database systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Administer, maintain, and support database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL,
PostgreSQL) across development, testing, and production environments.
· Perform database installation, upgrades, patches, and configuration.
· Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions.
· Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
· Ensure database security and compliance with company policies and relevant
regulations.
· Collaborate with developers and system administrators to optimize database queries
and architecture.
· Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
· Create and maintain database documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and
operational guidelines.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or
equivalent experience).
· 3–5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
· Proficiency in one or more database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL,
PostgreSQL).
· Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization.
· Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
· Familiarity with replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.· Understanding of database security practices and user management.
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL
Database).
· Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash,
Python).
· Knowledge of data warehousing and BI tools.
