1 x Automation Tester
Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Tester to join a major ICT transformation program. Working within Agile delivery teams, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing solutions that support the delivery of modern, citizen-centric digital services.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the Australian Government's largest technology transformation initiatives while working in a collaborative hybrid environment.
Active Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
Remote working arrangements are available but be willing to travel to Canberra when required for operational activities.
Contract duration: ASAP to 30 June 2027.
About the Project
The successful candidate will join the Indigo program. The Indigo Program is a large-scale digital transformation initiative replacing legacy election systems with a modern, agile technology platform. The program focuses on improving electoral services through business process transformation, enhanced data management, legislative compliance, and modern technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
As an Automation Tester, you will:
Design, develop and maintain automated test playbooks, test scenarios and test scripts.
Develop automated test suites aligned with the organizational testing framework.
Perform functional, integration and regression testing across program increments.
Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to understand product scope and release requirements.
Identify, report and track defects, assisting with issue triage and resolution.
Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and external vendors.
Support continuous improvement of testing practices and automation frameworks.
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD testing pipelines.
Essential Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Experience supporting the delivery of ICT projects within a remote or distributed Agile team environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Hands-on experience with automation testing tools including:
Selenium
Postman
Swagger
Cucumber
Experience developing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while understanding dependencies and project risks.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
Desirable Skills

Development experience with C#
Experience working with JavaScript
