The customer requires a Client/Server Network Architect with the expertise to design and upgrade the network that will replace their current internal network and specialized database. The candidate must have deep knowledge of how Microsoft software interacts within customer LAN/WAN environment, network, and security applications to ensure the database remains fully operational.
The candidate must also be capable of performing continuous monitoring, system hardening, and patch installation in accordance with DISA STIGs.
Position Description
Top-level technical expert responsible for design and development of a client/server environment. Develops strategy of client/server system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy. Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development. Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization (SQL, ORACLE, SYBASE, etc.). Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management.
Performance shall include:
Providing technical expertise and assist with network integration and consolidation efforts across multiple network environments
Addressing and resolving complex technical proles relating to the installation and upgrade of network hardware and systems
Interfacing with customers, vendors and other technical staff to analyze business and technical requirements
Documenting engineering standards, leads in the development of network architecture and engineering designs and changes
Evaluating current and emerging network technologies, conducts technical assessments and making recommendation to the Chief Engineer
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning
Experience:
7 - 9 years related experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience (4 years)
Certifications:
Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 within 6 months of the date of hire
Security Clearance:
Current clearance as defined in the Task Order
Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph
Other Requirements:
Ability to solve complex problems with many variables
Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
Individuals must possess current Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligibility with an in scope BI, or enrollment into Continuous Evaluation, or an in scope open PR. Depending on the position, additional security screening may also be required (e.g., polygraph examination, etc.).
