Contract Period: 1 January to 29 October 2027.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Monday and Wednesday, 10:00am to 6:00pm. Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

• Odd-week Fridays, 8:00am to 12:30pm. Even-week Fridays are off for home-based learning.

• No deployment during examinations, school holidays, weekends or gazetted public holidays.

Requirements:

• Preferred: a diploma or degree in Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work or a related social science.

• Preferred: at least one year supporting youths aged 12 to 18 in a school, residential home or community centre.

• Preferred skills include building trust with students while maintaining professional boundaries, responding calmly to distress and working patiently with colleagues on longer-term cases.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Outlook is preferred.

Job Scopes:

The Services required are set out as follows:

1. Respond to incidents during curriculum time, assess immediate needs and de-escalate distress. Help students return to class when they are ready.

2. Build relationships with students experiencing isolation, peer difficulties or disengagement from lessons. Follow up early when concerns arise.

3. Work with Year Heads and the student support teams to design, lead or supervise Tier 2 activities, mentor identified students and monitor progress.

4. Provide longer-term check-ins after disciplinary incidents under the guidance of the Student Management Team. Report progress, strengths and emerging concerns to the Subject Head for Student Well-being.

5. Escalate urgent safety concerns immediately through the school's designated channels. Refer matters requiring formal counselling, therapy, discipline or specialist support to the appropriate staff.

6. Coordinate all communication with parents through school staff.
