Student Management Officer
Location: School @BEDOK
Contract Period: 14 September 2026 to 3 September 2027
Working Hours
Mondays to Fridays: 7:15am to 2:15pm, including a 30-minute lunch break
Services are required during school terms only
No work on school holidays, Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Job Description
The Student Management Officer will work closely with the School Leaders, Student Development Team, Year Heads, Discipline Committee and other school personnel to support student discipline, supervision, case management, restorative practices and intervention work.
Key Responsibilities
Student Case Management and Investigations
Support the management of student disciplinary, behavioural, social-emotional and welfare cases.
Conduct preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews.
Interview students, witnesses, teachers, staff and other relevant parties.
Establish the sequence and timeline of student-related incidents.
Review CCTV footage, written statements, photographs, digital communications and relevant records.
Conduct investigations objectively, fairly and confidentially.
Student Supervision and Discipline
Patrol and supervise students during recess, lunch breaks, curriculum time, CCA periods and school activities.
Manage minor conflicts and de-escalate challenging situations.
Detect, deter and report fighting, bullying, misconduct and unsafe activities.
Refer serious or unresolved cases to the relevant school personnel.
Suspension and Corrective Measures
Supervise students serving recess suspension, out-of-classroom suspension and other corrective measures.
Maintain a safe, structured and conducive environment.
Ensure assigned disciplinary tasks are completed safely and appropriately.
Provide socio-emotional support to students requiring help with emotional regulation or classroom reintegration.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and confidential investigation, incident and intervention records.
Document students’ behavioural, social-emotional, peer-relationship and engagement needs.
Provide regular updates on students’ progress and intervention outcomes.
Recommend appropriate follow-up actions.
Comply with the school’s confidentiality, data-protection and record-management requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
At least two years of relevant experience managing, supervising, mentoring or supporting children or youths.
Experience in student discipline, case management, behavioural intervention, investigations, conflict mediation or restorative practices is preferred.
Emotionally stable, resilient and culturally sensitive.
Able to remain calm and defuse high-tension situations.
Firm yet caring approach when managing students.
Strong communication, documentation and interpersonal skills.
Able to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Positive role model who can build good relationships with students, staff and stakeholders.
