Working hours
• School term: Mondays to Fridays, 8:30am to 4:30pm, including a 30-minute lunch break.
• School holiday sessions: 8:30am to 1:00pm on 15–19 March, 31 May–2 June, 23–25 June, 6–10 September, 22–24 November and 28–30 December 2027. Dates are subject to change.
• Occasional weekend or gazetted public holiday work may be required for external performances or learning journeys. The roster and compensation for such work are to be confirmed.
Requirements
• Diploma in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Education or a related field, or another relevant qualification.
• Ministry of Education registration is required for deployment.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience working with children in educational or community settings, experience delivering school programmes or interventions, and familiarity with community resources and referral pathways.
Job Scopes
1. Engage and mentor primary school pupils during recess, lunch and after school. Observe their interactions, support pupils identified by the school and escalate welfare or behaviour concerns through school procedures.
2. Manage the A.S.P.I.R.E. Room, including opening and closing, supervising pupils, maintaining the room and its assets, and helping teachers create opportunities for student leadership.
3. Plan and facilitate age-appropriate A.S.P.I.R.E. activities with teachers and external partners. Design activities independently when needed, align them with Character and Citizenship Education outcomes and follow school and MOE safety requirements.
4. Maintain attendance and inventory records, prepare materials, conduct stock checks and coordinate replenishment with school administrators.
5. Collect feedback and contribute to individual student reports each semester, monthly activity reports, termly evaluations and student updates, twice-yearly inventory reports and incident reports.
