Brief description

The main purpose of this position is to research, collect, analyse and report on integrity-related security threats to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) by gathering information from multiple sources, synthesising insights, preparing structured reports and supporting stakeholders with proactive information for security-related decision-making.


Detailed description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Collect data from multiple sources and sift through and evaluate information.

  • Organise, collate and analyse information and data from multiple databases and information feeds.

  • Proactively communicate insight summaries to business partners, including the senior analysts and manager.

  • Document information products and package for distribution to stakeholders through structured reporting.

  • Apply appropriate analytical techniques, methodologies and technologies to meet objectives of the task.

  • Synthesise multiple sources of data and information into a single topical summary.

  • Derive insights that respond to client needs and key business questions.

Job requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

  • a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Security Risk Management, Security Studies, Intelligence Analysis or an equivalent qualification;

  • knowledge of academic-level research methodology; and

  • two to three years’ experience in intelligence, research, security, finance and/or knowledge management.

The following would be an added advantage:

  • experience in information collection and analysis with a strong liaison and coordination capability.

  • specialist training in intelligence analysis and/or completed risk analysis.

Additional requirements include:

  • verbal and written communication;

  • decision-making;

  • advanced and demonstrable report writing skills;
  • confidentiality;
