Heffernan’s Business Operations Internship gives college students the opportunity to experience the business side of a growing insurance organization while working alongside professionals across specific corporate functions.

This 10-week program is designed for students who are interested in how organizations operate behind the scenes. You’ll gain exposure to real business projects, learn how corporate teams support an insurance brokerage, and develop practical skills that can translate into a variety of career paths.

  • Students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of college. Graduating seniors will also be considered.
  • Interested in business, corporate operations, HR, IT, marketing, finance, project management, or a related field.
  • Curious and eager to learn about different areas of a business.
  • Strong communicators with excellent organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working with data, technology, or business processes.
  • Analytical and/or creative thinkers.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working with different teams.
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative.
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
  • Ability to receive coaching and feedback and apply it to improve performance.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Professional demeanor and behavior are required, as referenced in Heffernan’s core values (Habits).
