2027 Fried Frank Civil Rights Fellowship Application - MALDEF
Summary
A four-year fellowship for law graduates combining litigation associate work at a New York law firm with civil rights advocacy at MALDEF, rotating between offices in New York and Los Angeles with regional flexibility.
New York, NY · Four-year fellowship · Start date: fall 2027
The 2027 Civil Rights Fellowship combines two years as a litigation associate at Fried Frank with two years working on-site at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) —the United States’ leading Latino civil rights organization. We are looking for lawyers who are as committed to civil rights as they are to becoming exceptional litigators.
Please note: Your first two years will be in our New York office, and your third and fourth years will be based at one of MALDEF's offices: MALDEF headquarters in Los Angeles or a regional office in San Antonio or Washington, DC, subject to the staffing needs of MALDEF and the preferences of the fellow.
Starting compensation is commensurate with a first year associate, which is $225,000. Judicial clerks enter at a second-year associate salary. Compensation for years three and four is commensurate with staff attorney compensation at MALDEF.
