2027 New Graduate Software Engineer

Summary

Entry-level software engineer for December 2026/May 2027 grads joining SpiderRock's downtown Chicago team to build and support its trading platform. Day to day involves .NET/C# development, debugging user APIs (GUI, MySQL, REST), configuring client integrations, and working with support teams in a hybrid, 3+ days/week in-office setting.

We are actively looking for New Graduates (December 2026 or May 2027) looking to launch their Software Engineer career at SpiderRock. You will be able to contribute to the design and development of the SpiderRock Platform. We expect this individual to have a desire to learn, participate in engineering discussions, and contribute to the various components of the SpiderRock cloud, APIs and software. We seek a candidate with a strong desire to contribute to our team's fast paced development cycle. This is a full-time salaried position and will report to one of our Development Team Leads.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Utilize .Net/C# software developer skills

  • Assist in debugging and analyzing our user APIs and interfaces (GUI, MySQL, REST API)

  • Work on challenging and complex projects

  • Learn about the financial markets

  • Develop and configure new API configurations based on client needs

  • Work with IT and client support teams to troubleshoot issues

  • Deep-Dive learning sessions on the SpiderRock software philosophy

  • Contribute to our client support team's software quality assurance

  • Assist integration efforts for SpiderRock's growing client base

  • Work with clients to enhance the onboarding experience

WHAT SPIDERROCK IS LOOKING FOR

  • BS or BA in Math, Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field or experience

  • Strong acumen in software development

  • Debugging experience

  • Demonstrable .NET/C#/JAVA/C++/Python/PowerShell experience

  • Exposure to Windows environment

  • A strong analytical and problem solving approach

  • Understanding of a project life cycle and methodology (i.e. Agile, Scrum)

  • Strong work ethic

  • Communication with end users, assessing requirements and managing expectations professionally

  • Independent project and time management

  • Professional, motivated attitude

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Available to work in a hybrid environment in our downtown Chicago office (3+ days in office per week)
