2027 Summer Internship - Marketing & Publicity (NYC)
Overview
HarperCollins’s William Morrow Group is one of the industry’s premier fiction and nonfiction publishers, home to bestselling and award-winning authors across a variety of genres. We are seeking a savvy, book-loving intern to assist with our publicity and marketing efforts. This internship is ideal for a recent grad or current college student looking to learn about the industry and gain experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing administrative support including mailing books, entering data, routing invoices, etc.
- Assist with the creation of promotional materials like press releases, sell sheets, and giveaway forms
- Assist with the creation of content and captions for social media
- Contribute to research projects
- Assist with outreach to media and social media creators
- The intern is invited to participate in various staff meetings and give opinions and ideas regarding promotional strategies for our books
- The intern is invited to attend and listen into various meetings with authors and agents
- The intern is invited to request specific projects of interest throughout the internship
Qualifications
- Candidates must be available to work in our NYC office from Monday – Thursday for a total of 28 hours per week, from June 7 – August 12, 2027. Compensation for this internship is $18 per hour.
- Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience.

- Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.
- A passion for books is highly valued!
- A can-do attitude, love of books, and interest in marketing and publicity
- Must have good time management skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing effectively
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Familiarity with various social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
