Join Personal & Commercial Operations (PCO) and be part of the national team that enables operations across RBC in Canada. Our student placements offer hands-on experience and meaningful work while contributing to initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance the client experience.
The National Office Non-Technical stream provides exposure to operations, process improvement, risk management, and client service support across PCO. Students will work with operational teams to support business processes, documentation, workflow analysis, reporting, and key strategic or risk-related activities. This placement builds foundational business, analytical, and communication skills while contributing to initiatives that improve efficiency and strengthen controls.
Within Operational Effectiveness - Strategy & Enablement, this role supports documentation, enablement activities, and employee engagement initiatives that help teams execute consistently and effectively across PCO. The student will contribute to organizing materials, coordinating activities, and supporting initiatives that improve clarity, alignment, and operational execution.
What will you do?
You will:
Support project documentation, materials, and enablement
Assist with employee engagement initiatives.
Coordinate project activities, timelines, and deliverables.
Support stakeholder communication and follow-ups across teams.
Assist with preparing materials and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to operational strategy and enablement.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary (university/college) program in Business, Commerce, or a related discipline.
Interest in operations, enablement, or strategy.
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a structured manner.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work effectively in a primarily on-site, team-oriented environment with occasional remote work as required.
Available to work a 7.5-hour day, Monday to Friday, with hours varying between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on business requirements.
Nice-to-have:
Experience supporting projects or coordinating activities.
Bilingualism (English and French), written and spoken.

This is a primarily in-person role. Remote-only arrangements may be available for select positions based on team and business needs.
To be eligible for these student positions, you must either:
Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component to graduate successfully.
