287 - Peer Recovery Specialist
JOB SUMMARY (PART-TIME)
This position provides person-centered, strength-focused services in the office and a community-based setting providing peer recovery services. Provides peer-to-peer support, advocacy, resource information, and self-help services. Assists persons diagnosed with substance use disorders access community services.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities:
- Connects patients to formal recovery support programs and existing social and other support services.
- Engage with individuals who are considering entering treatment programs.
- Encourages patients to attend treatment or other healthcare services.
- Assist patients develop care plans.
- Guide patients in self-monitoring their progress.
- Model effective coping skills.
- Support patients in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services.
- Assures the provision of consistent, non-judgmental, person-centered services that are strength-based and develop assets.
- Educate patients about various modes of recovery.
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of all contacts and collects statistical data.
- Complete data entry reports when required.
- Utilize an Electronic Medical Record.
- Completes all training(s) required.
- Additional duties as assigned.
