This full-time, evening-focused position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and takes pride in making a meaningful difference during the hours when residents often need steady, attentive support.
About the Role
In this role, you will provide direct personal care to residents in a skilled nursing and transitional care setting. Working the second shift, you will help residents maintain comfort, dignity, and independence as they progress toward their health goals. - Take and record vital signs, intake and output, and other observations, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff.

- Maintain clean, orderly resident rooms and common areas according to infection-control standards.
- Respond to call lights and resident requests with patience and attentiveness throughout the evening hours.
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively during shift transitions.
Because evening hours bring their own rhythm, the 2nd Shift CNA often becomes a reassuring presence as residents settle in for the night, offering both practical assistance and genuine companionship.
Qualifications

- Current placement on the Iowa Nurse Aide Registry in good standing.
- Ability to follow care plans, protocols, and documentation requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a care team.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and assist with resident transfers throughout the shift.
- Availability to reliably work the second shift on a full-time schedule.
Why This Role Matters
The ideal 2nd Shift CNA brings warmth, dependability, and a steady commitment to resident well-being.
