2nd Shift Production Supervisor
- Supervises by coordinating production schedules, staffing and material needs through an employee involvement process approach.
- Assists in the scheduling and planning of production according to systems requirements.
- Ensures equipment is clean and sanitized; and requires all works areas be kept clean and orderly.
- Assists in performing production and material requirement planning functions to ensure there are adequate supplies to meet the customer demand in accordance with Customer/Sales Service and Inventory Control objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring the following safety requirements are met:
- conducting safety orientation and safety training of employees
- enforcing safe work practices
- correcting unsafe conditions
- preventing lingering unsafe and unhealthful workplace conditions and/or hazards
- investigating workplace accidents
- Ensures proper quality standards, specifications and procedures are followed.
- Enforces Company rules and procedures; administers discipline, if necessary, in a fair and equitable manner.
- Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Food and Plant Safety requirements to ensure the highest product quality is obtained.
- Selects and trains capable personnel to perform operational functions within this area of responsibility.
- Responsible for the implementation of food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as, but not limited to: GMP’s, HACCP food safety, product quality, food security, plant security, government guidelines and requirements, prerequisite programs, quality systems, etc.
- Ensures that the Collective Bargaining Agreement is administered and that grievances are addressed in a timely manner.
- Monitors the work force in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Accounts for proper reporting of production information in a timely manner.
- Reviews customer order status daily and reports all irregularities, shortages, and problems to the Sales Service Department and the Plant Manager.
- Performs the necessary BPCS transactions to assure a timely exchange of possible customer order issues.
- Communicates with Customer/Sales Service and Marketing to ensure a timely exchange of possible customer order problems.
- Coordinates with Inventory Control, Purchasing, Traffic, Shipping and Quality Assurance to ensure customer service.
- Attends Production, Scheduling, Sales Service, Purchasing and Planning meetings as scheduled.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
