2nd Shift Quality Technician
Overall Purpose:
The Quality Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of raw materials, purchased components, and production parts throughout the production process. Serving as a representative of the quality department to both internal and external customers, the Quality Technician actively participates in continuous improvement efforts for the quality system. This position is essential for maintaining safety and quality standards, proper documentation, and the maintenance of equipment and gauges to support Masterbilt’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes:
- Quality Assurance:
- Inspect incoming materials and components.
- Test and inspect parts during and after production to determine product acceptance.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and manual and digital gauges to ensure conformance with print specifications and established quality standards.
- Coordinate external calibrations and perform internal calibrations on simple gauges.
- Interpret part blueprints, material specifications, engineering plans, and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Operational Maintenance:
- Follow existing policies and procedures, reporting any changes or improvements to Leadership.
- Analyze data and review part history to evaluate the reliability of source information.
- Resolve testing/inspection problems by checking measuring equipment and communicating issues as appropriate.
- Verify calibration and perform preventive maintenance on measuring equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, and coordinating repairs as needed.
