2nd Shift - Scheduler/Expediter- Class 3
Job Description
This position is responsible for supporting daily production and shipping activities by managing hot expedite orders, coordinating with production, and ensuring priority parts are processed and shipped on schedule. Strong computer skills are required for this position.
Starting at $19.56/hr (up to $23.05/hr)
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Release and print hot expedite orders received from Culpeper.
- Review orders to identify priority and time-sensitive requirements.
- Use computer systems to access, process, and track orders.
- Enter and update information accurately in the appropriate systems.
- Distribute printed orders to the appropriate production areas.
- Communicate with production regarding hot orders and required completion times.
- Monitor the progress of released expedite orders and follow up as needed.
- Help ensure priority orders are completed in time to meet the scheduled truck departure.
- Gather hot and priority parts from the production areas.
- Verify parts against the appropriate orders and shipping requirements.
- Assist with processing and moving hot parts through the remaining production/shipping process.
- Coordinate with Shipping to ensure expedited parts are packaged and ready for loading.
- Assist with packaging and staging parts for the nightly truck.
- Prioritize work based on the nightly shipping schedule and customer requirements.
- Communicate any shortages, delays, or issues that could prevent an order from shipping on time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Strong computer skills are a must.
- Ability to learn and navigate production, inventory, scheduling, and order-processing systems.
- Ability to accurately enter, retrieve, and update information in computer systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple hot orders and changing priorities.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, communicate in English, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to use hand tools and basic power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Work in production areas with exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and ergonomic stressors while wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Perform job duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive motion in a manufacturing environment.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and greater weights with assistance as needed.
