Position Summary:
The 340B Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration, optimization, and compliance oversight of the 340B Drug Pricing Program across Clearway Health partner health systems and contract pharmacy networks. This role serves as a subject matter expert for 340B operational processes, supporting program integrity, inventory management, split-billing operations, contract pharmacy administration, audit readiness, and stakeholder engagement.
The 340B Operations Specialist collaborates with pharmacy leaders, health system partners, manufacturers, third-party administrators, and internal operational teams to maximize program performance while ensuring compliance with all applicable HRSA regulations and organizational policies.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead daily 340B operational activities to ensure accurate program administration, optimization, and compliance for Clearway Health partners.
- Support split-billing software set up for Clearway Health partners and monitor platforms to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Review, analyze, and understand accumulation data, replenishment transactions, inventory variances and investigate and resolve qualified prescription eligibility issues.
- Analyze program performance metrics and financial outcomes and provide recommendations to optimize performance.
- Prepare recurring operational, compliance, and savings reports including required manufacturer claim reporting.
- Identify trends, opportunities, and potential operational risks through data review.
- Serve as a resource for health system clients, pharmacy staff, and operational teams regarding 340B processes and requirements.
- Collaborate with pharmacy operations, finance, revenue cycle, compliance, and information technology teams.
- Support onboarding and implementation activities for new programs and partnerships.
- Assist with developing and updating policies, procedures, and training materials both internally and externally.
- Participate in client meetings and operational reviews as assigned.
- Maintain knowledge of HRSA regulations, 340B program & legislation changes, and industry best practices.
- Ensure adherence to diversion and duplicate discount prevention requirements.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Public Health, Finance, or related field required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required:
- Advanced 340B Operations Certification
Experience:
- Minimum 2-4 years of 340B program experience.
- Experience working with 340B split billing and 340B eligible pharmacy systems required
- Experience supporting audits, compliance programs, or healthcare operational initiatives preferred.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required; as well as ability to communicate professionally over the phone.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide superb, personalized customer service to instill confidence and advocate for patients; ability to explain required information to customers in a comprehensible manner.
- Organized, strong attention to detail, ability to self-direct through multitasking and prioritizing, dependable, empathetic, focused on quality service, goal oriented.
- Cultural sensitivity, understanding, and comfort with a wide range of social, racial, and ethnic populations.
- Must practice discretion and confidentiality as position deals with extremely sensitive and confidential data.
- Ability to understand, explain, and actively promote the clients' objectives through direct coordination and commitment to the program’s goals.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in the departmental needs (i.e., assisting other team members, adjusting assignments, etc.).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to quickly learn other relevant applications that support management of patient care and assigned responsibilities; and ability to extract necessary information.
Special Working Conditions (On-call, travel, shift, coverage):
- Clearway Health Specialty Pharmacies, serving patients in hospitals, health systems, and communities, may require employees at client sites to work on company-recognized holidays.
This information is being provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Clearway Health. The current annual compensation range for this position is $87,000 - $109,000. The actual rate within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. In addition to a competitive base salary, this role is eligible to participate in the company’s bonus program as part of its comprehensive and rewarding benefits package.
