3D Printing Field Service Engineer

CADimensions is looking for a 3D Printing Fields Service Engineer to join our Additive Manufacturing team in Syracuse, NY.

In this role, you'll be the person our customers turn to when they need help keeping their 3D printing equipment running at its best. You'll provide technical support by phone and email, troubleshoot equipment remotely, and travel to customer locations when hands-on service is needed.

From diagnosing a print-quality issue over the phone to repairing a printer onsite, performing preventative maintenance, or installing a new system, you'll play an important role in creating a great customer experience and minimizing equipment downtime.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide phone, email, and remote technical support for Stratasys and Formlabs 3D printing systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, material, and print-quality issues and guide customers through solutions.
  • Travel to customer locations to diagnose equipment issues and perform onsite repairs when remote troubleshooting cannot resolve the problem.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to help maximize equipment performance and uptime.
  • Install, configure, calibrate, and test new 3D printing systems.Provide customers with training and guidance on printer operation, materials, software, and equipment maintenance.
  • Partner with Stratasys and Formlabs technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve more complex service issues.
  • Communicate proactively with customers regarding service status, findings, recommendations, and next steps.
  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and customer documentation.
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of CADimensions' internal 3D printing equipment.Collaborate with our Sales, Applications, and Service teams to understand customer needs and deliver the right technical solutions.
  • Travel is expected approximately 50% of the time to customer locations throughout CADimensions' service territory.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in a technical service, mechanical, electrical, engineering, manufacturing, or equipment-support environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and work through problems methodically.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable providing technical support by phone and email as well as working directly with customers onsite.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize service requests, and manage your time effectively.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation, schematics, and service procedures.
  • Comfortable traveling to customer locations throughout our service territory.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, tools, and service components as required.

Experience with 3D printing or additive manufacturing equipment, including Stratasys and/or Formlabs systems, is a plus but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
