At Enwave Energy Corporation, we're helping builda more sustainable energy future through innovative district energy solutions that support decarbonization across our communities. We're looking for a 4th Class Maintenance Engineer to join our Simcoe Plant Operations and Maintenance team on a six-month contract.
In this role, you'll support the maintenance and reliability of key district energy assets including steam, chilled water, and hot water systems in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
What you'll do
You'll play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of essential plant equipment. This includes performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, heat exchangers, chillers, steam turbines, and other mechanical and electrical systems. You'll diagnose equipment issues, carry out repairs, support commissioning activities, and help ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
Working closely with operations teams and contractors, you'll assist with equipment isolations, lockout/tagout procedures, inspections, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations. You'll also maintain accurate maintenance records through CMMS systems and contribute to a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
What we're looking for
- Valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate of Competency (Ontario/TSSA) or equivalent recognized certification.
- Minimum one year of hands-on plant maintenance experience in a district energy, power generation, industrial, or institutional environment. Co-op experience will be considered.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of pumps, motors, fans, heat exchangers, chillers, and steam/hot water/chilled water systems.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small team.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around high-voltage and high-pressure equipment with appropriate training.
- Experience with CMMS systems such as Mpluse or Salus is considered an asset.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, motor controls, and VFDs is an asset.
- Experience supporting contractor-led maintenance activities within a live operating plant environment is an asset.

Compensation
The expected base salary range for this role is CAD $ 34.18/hr. based on experience, skills, and alignment with the role.
