Lecturer (Media, Communication & Graphic Design)
- Salary: $4,000 - $6,500
- Location: Central
- Working Days: 5 days
- Working Hours: Mon – Thur 8.30am – 6pm / Fri 8.30am – 5.30pm
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, lessons, and asynchronous learning activities for students across different levels, including overseas colleges where required.
- Maintain and develop academic standards through effective teaching delivery, curriculum review, and continuous improvement of programmes.
- Develop and review teaching materials, learning resources and blended/online learning strategies aligned with programme learning outcomes.
- Set, administer, and mark coursework and examinations; review examination papers, manage moderation processes and conduct objective assessments for examination appeal cases.
- Monitor students’ academic progress through formative and summative assessments, provide feedback, academic guidance, and support students’ skills development.
- Advise students on academic performance, career opportunities, and further study pathways.
- Perform academic administration duties, including programme documentation, quality assurance reviews, inspections, and compliance requirements.
- Support the development of new programmes, academic partnerships, and course development initiatives.
- Lead as Module Leader or Programme Leader where assigned and monitor the performance of Associate Lecturers.
- Utilise Learning Management Systems (e.g. Blackboard), e-learning platforms, and digital teaching technologies to enhance learning effectiveness.
- Participate in knowledge exchange and professional activities related to the subject area, as well as academic committees, marketing events, and other school activities.
- Perform other duties or projects assigned by the Assistant Director (Academic) or Director of School.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Media & Communication, Journalism, Film Production or related disciplines.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of tertiary teaching experience within a higher education environment.
- Experience in module/programme leadership, curriculum development and academic administration.
- Knowledge and experience with Learning Management Systems, e-learning platforms and digital teaching technologies.
