Onsite fixed-term (3-6 month) contract Project Manager in Johannesburg delivering finance and operations projects for a finance-sector client: defining scope and milestones, running governance and RAID/status reporting, managing senior stakeholders and vendors, and coordinating testing, cutover and stabilisation using agile, hybrid or waterfall methods.
Centrax Digital is recruiting on behalf of a client in the finance sector for a Project Manager to plan, coordinate and deliver priority business projects within agreed scope, time, cost, quality, risk and stakeholder expectations.
The role provides structured project management discipline across business-as-usual, operational improvement, regulatory, reporting, risk, control, systems and transformation-related initiatives. It requires strong delivery ownership, practical governance, disciplined planning, proactive issue resolution and clear communication with senior stakeholders, project teams, business owners, vendors and delivery partners.
Key focus areas: defining scope, milestones, dependencies and success criteria; maintaining integrated plans, RAID logs, decision logs and action trackers; applying agile or scrum practices where appropriate; establishing practical governance and preparing status reports and steering committee packs; managing stakeholders and change through readiness, handover and transition; and coordinating process, systems and vendor activities including testing, cutover and post-implementation stabilisation.
Reports to: Programme Manager / Portfolio Lead / Senior Manager. Business area: Group Finance / Operations. Onsite, fixed term contract.
