AACC: Marketing and Growth Specialist
Description
American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC)
Location: Forest, Virginia
Position: Full-time, in person
Compensation: $40,000–$50,000 annually, depending on relevant skills and experience
About the Opportunity
AACC is looking for a motivated, resourceful person who is eager to learn, takes pride in excellent work, and wants to build a career in marketing. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate, career changer, or early-career professional with strong judgment, initiative, and work ethic. Extensive marketing experience is not required.
You will receive training and support from an experienced team as you learn to create effective campaigns, use modern marketing tools, and generate measurable results. As your skills grow, you will take greater ownership of assigned brands and help develop their marketing strategies with guidance from leadership.
Approximately half of your time will support Light Counseling (), a separate company under common ownership, with a focus on generating qualified phone calls and online inquiries from prospective clients. The other half will support marketing and revenue growth across AACC’s departments, brands, and initiatives.
This position reports to AACC's Senior Director of Marketing, with Light Counseling marketing priorities and work approved by the CEO.
What You Will Do
- Learn and work extensively in HubSpot, including its marketing, sales, CRM, email, forms, automation, and reporting tools.
- Generate qualified leads for Light Counseling through SEO/AEO, Google Business Profile, email, social media, landing pages, and coordinated advertising.
- Write and develop email campaigns, social media content, landing pages, and other marketing materials.
- Embrace AI as a regular part of your work, using it to develop ideas, create content and graphics, improve efficiency, and analyze results.
- Maintain consistent branding and ensure marketing materials are accurate, visually appealing, and professionally presented.
- Work with our paid advertising specialist to develop campaign ideas, coordinate materials, help keep campaigns running, and monitor performance.
- Coordinate projects with our graphics, video, and web teams. Build landing pages using available tools and AI assistance, and submit clear requests when specialist support is needed.
- Help create campaigns that drive leads, registrations, purchases, and revenue for AACC.
- Track results, identify opportunities, and recommend improvements. Work with Light Counseling’s intake manager to understand lead quality and outcomes; intake handles inquiries once someone calls or submits a form.
- Support the partner relationship manager and represent AACC or Light Counseling at selected events as needed.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong work ethic, initiative, and follow-through.
- Clear writing, careful proofreading, and professional communication.
- Organization and the ability to manage details and deadlines.
- An eye for branding, design, and how things look.
- Comfort with technology and enthusiasm for learning HubSpot, AI, and other marketing tools.
- Coachability, resourcefulness, and a willingness to receive feedback.
- Excitement about AACC’s Christian mission, Light Counseling’s work, and contributing to a supportive team.
Experience with HubSpot, Canva, SEO, social media, or digital marketing is helpful. We welcome examples of initiative and learning from work, school, volunteer activities, or personal projects.
Travel and Schedule
This is a full-time, in-person position in Forest, Virginia. Approximately four to eight trips per year may be required, including Extraordinary Women, Ignite, and AACC conferences, along with selected events representing Light Counseling.
Some events require evening and weekend work. Schedule adjustments and additional time off are coordinated with leadership, with any required overtime paid in accordance with applicable law.
Why Join AACC?
You will join a supportive team that is committed to helping you learn and succeed. You will gain practical experience, work alongside marketing and creative specialists, and grow into greater responsibility while helping advance it's Christian mission and connecting people with Christian counseling resources and services.
