Academic Assist Officer
As an Academic Assist Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of timely operational learning and teaching administrative and systems support to academic learning and teaching staff. In this role you will assess user queries related to the administrative processes and educational platforms used in the operational delivery of learning and teaching activities, resolve simple course design requests and contribute to the development of just-in-time support materials for both staff and students.
This position works with colleagues within the Academic Assist team and across CCEE to provide integrated support services for learning and teaching delivery.
Other responsibilities include:
- Provide expert operational support for Course Convenors, Program Directors and other staff on learning and teaching administrative and systems queries.
- Develop knowledge of relevant learning and teaching systems (including the Learning Management System, the Curriculum Management System, Grade Management System, timetabling, Peoplesoft), as well as relevant policies and practices to ensure accurate support.
- Investigate issues/problems associated with the use of learning and teaching administrative and educational systems, liaising with other business areas (where needed) to provide effective resolutions.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in providing high-level learning and teaching systems support, within the academic, education or tertiary sector.
- A broad understanding of learning and teaching systems (e.g. Learning Management Systems, Curriculum Management Systems and/or Enterprise Resource Planning systems) and/or course administration business processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of working within and across teams for effective support service delivery.

This is a continuing full-time position and will primarily be based at our Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Salary range
The full-time base salary is HEW Level 5, $82,415 - $92,456 + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $96,426 - $108,174 per annum.
