Summary
Manage a film-industry training program: administer Canvas LMS, coordinate internships, track student progress, and advise learners in media-related certifications.
Assist with operations of the program, serve as point of contact for students, act as a Canvas LMS administrator, and oversee Cherokee Film Institute (CFI) Internship Program and alumni network. Act as an instructional designer for CFI curriculum.
- Identifies internship and apprenticeship opportunities for certification earners through relationships with state and local film offices, industry contacts, and industry or educational partners.
- Matches certification earners with internship opportunities aligned with specific curriculum pathway.
- Assists with assessment of internship and other training programs.
- Tracks students through CFI program, determining eligibility for students to receive certifications.
- Collects and maintains certification and internship participation data and provides reports for stakeholders through student management system.
- Serves as primary point of contact for student issues/concerns.
- Provides advisory services for students in CFI certification program.
- Assesses and analyzes program needs and reports those to leadership and consultants.
- Provides demographic and other information about CFI students as needed for marketing and recruitment strategies.
- No supervisory/management authority.
- Work is performed in a variety of settings, including controlled office settings and /or outdoors in all types of weather.
- Work may require working varied shifts including, weekends and holiday as needed.
- Work requires travel.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in film, communications, journalism, or other related field, and two (2) years of experience in the film, media or educational film/tv industries, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two plus (2+) years in higher education preferred.
- Working knowledge of Google Drive Suite and Microsoft Teams.
