Access Control Technician (Entry Level)

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing basic craftsmanship of access controls as an apprentice level technician.

Schedule: 7:45am-4:15pm Monday thru Friday. This shop is on-call, so the ideal candidate must have the flexibility to come in as needed.

  • Installs, maintains, and serves access control hardware and equipment.
  • Performs semi-skilled tasks such as disassembling mechanical or electrical locking devices, running low voltage wire, replacing worn or damaged parts and using control keys to remove and replace lock cylinders.
  • Operates a key duplicator.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in the maintenance, repair and operation of electrical and mechanical security systems.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Self-motivated and directed; ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • A solid customer service acumen and interpersonal skills to effectively work with both internal and external customers and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

LICENSE:

  • Texas driver's license is required - must have clear driving record.
