Role purpose
To manage and restore Vodafone Egypt’s Radio Access Network sites’ problems on a 24/7 basis from both a fault management and performance management perspective. Responsibilities include all access sites’ Radio BTS faults, misconfigurations, transmission faults, and performance degradations. The team acts as a second line to all access voice and data service issues in terms of site problems and owns completely all access site problems from end to end until resolution by different entities.
Role profile
Corrective maintenance:
- Act as the focal point and owner of all access sites restoration activities within technology
- Direct network fault management towards correct fault resolution
- Second line to Access SOC, TX SOC, and SOC performance desk
- Last line at Vodafone technology in resolving site problems
- Direct any RNC/BSC/major TX node problem to TX and Access Support teams
- All lead times (response, handling, and escalation) to be within the agreed lead times to ensure achieving the least MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
- Ensure adherence to standard technical procedures while handling network activities, problems, and faults
Performance management:
- Master all performance KPIs affecting and measuring site performance
- Use KPI degradations to guide the restoration towards exact fault and to assess fault clearance after actions
- Act as a second line for performance management to SOC performance desk
- Direct non-fault based KPI degradations to RAN, radio, and TX planning teams
Think customer, think service
- CSRs with vendors
- Issue site/node based CSRs
- Support the vendor with all necessary logs
- Follow up on all cases with the vendor
Stakeholder management:
- Own all access sites problems and degradations from an end-to-end perspective
- Actively manage all stakeholders within SM or the whole technology department
- Focal point for all site-based performance reporting between SM-RO and CE departments

Competencies and qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in the telecommunication industry
- 3-5 years of experience in Ericsson RAN products (Baseband, DUW, RNC, BSC) in addition to TCU/SIU/R6K and Ericsson MOM
- AMOS/Moshell troubleshooting and scripting skills
- Good knowledge of GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G technologies
- IP knowledge (basics of routing, switching, and VLANs)
- Antenna, RET, and RF connectivity
- Shell scripting and/or Python
- Familiar with security terms
- Must have technical and professional qualifications:
- Decision making
- Working under pressure
- Quick, active, and high-paced
- Technical troubleshooting skills
- Ericsson, Huawei, and SIAE Access and Transport second line expertise
