Account Manager
Why we need you
We're growing, and our client list is growing with us. Global names, campaigns with real cultural weight, and briefs that land on our desk because of the work we've already put out into the world.
What that means is there's a portfolio here waiting for someone to make their own. Not accounts to keep ticking over, but relationships to build: the proactive idea nobody asked for, the budget conversation had early because you saw it coming, the client who knows their agency is thinking about them when nothing is due.
That's what this role is. You'll own your clients end to end, with the trust and the room to run them the way you think they should be run. Get this right and you're not just managing accounts, you're shaping how the Butterfly Effect is experienced by the people who trust us and growing fast yourself while you do it.
Here's what you'll be doing
You'll be the day-to-day contact for your clients. You'll build the kind of relationships where you understand their goals inside out, and guide them towards real growth. You'll work closely with our strategy, social, influencer and production teams to make sure work lands on time, on brief and at a quality we're all proud of. It's hands-on, client-facing, and fast, and you'll be trusted with real commercial responsibility from the start.
Specifically, you'll:
Own account budgets, forecasting and financial performance across your portfolio, keeping delivery inside scope and flagging risk early rather than after it's happened.
Lead client calls, or support the leadership team on them, and manage internal delivery teams so outputs meet the brief and our standards.
Spot opportunities to grow accounts through new ideas, building commercially strong proposals, upsells and extensions that genuinely fit what the client needs and what we do well.
Strengthen client satisfaction and retention through consistent value and forward-thinking guidance, and feed into new business pitches when we need you.
Keep internal job and finance systems accurate and up to date, and contribute to the ways of working, documentation and best practice that keep the wider agency running well.
Qualifications
These are the things we think you'll genuinely need to do this well:
3 to 6 years in a social or digital marketing agency, with proven experience managing client relationships end to end.
Commercial confidence: you've owned budgets, spotted scope creep before it became a problem, and had the awkward money conversation without flinching.
A strong working understanding of social platforms and what good work looks like on each of them.
Excellent organisation and communication, with the ability to hold several projects at once
It would be nice if
None of these are dealbreakers. If you've got some of them, tell us:
You've worked directly with sports brands, teams, athletes or fitness clients.
You have a genuine interest in sport and the wider sports industry.
You understand paid social execution.
You know your way around influencer or talent partnerships.
You've built or supported strategies that delivered measurable client growth.
